A dozen double-yolk eggs from the same box

A stunned mother from New Zealand couldn’t believe her eyes when she defied one in a quintillion odds to crack open a dozen double-yolk eggs — from the same box!

Nikki Corbishley prepared herself a meal with one of the eggs and discovered the strange phenomenon.

She told: “I opened up the first one and I was like ‘oh double yolks’ and I didn’t think anything of it.”

But the next morning, she discovered another double yolker.

According to the British Egg Information Service, the chances of finding a double-yolk egg on average are one in 1,000. Which means the probability of finding a dozen in the same box is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 — or one in a quintillion. The phenomenon is more likely when the eggs are laid by young hens whose hormone system has not yet fully developed, and the chicken produces two yolks in one go.

An uninvited guest to the party!

What would you do if you have an invited guest at your birthday party and who eats your whole birthday cake? Of course, it will not only make you mad but also cry for the whole party being somehow ruined…

This is what happened to an infant called Jackson when a juvenile male black bear came crashing through the Alaskan family’s skylight, straight into birthday bash — and eat all of the cake.

While the little boy and the bear stared at each other ‘in disbelief’, everyone else raced out of the room. Jackson’s grandparents quickly grabbed him and took him upstairs to safety.

The bear, meanwhile, seemed unphased. He stayed in the room for a while to eat the family’s lemon, blueberry and peanut butter cupcakes.

After the homeowners Glenn Merrill and Alicia Bishop shooed the bear away, he very casually wandered out of the house. But that wasn’t the end of their encounter. Shortly afterwards, the bear poked his head around the window.

“He was up by the window like, ‘I want more cupcakes’,” Bishop said.

Weirdly, this kind of thing is not that uncommon in Alaska!

Bizarre ‘mutant piranha’!

Stunned fishermen caught more than they bargained for when they hooked a terrifying mutant fish. The bizarre-looking black creature had a monstrous face, sharp teeth and the body of an eel.

The men who caught the creature said they were completely stumped when they pulled it out of the water. The unlikely beast was hooked from the Kama River in central Russia’s Udmurt Republic by anglers using earth worms.

They believed that it may be a mutated version of a Chinese sleepe — also known as the Amur sleeper — which is a freshwater fish native to the Amur River basin in eastern Asia. According to local reports, the species were very popular as domestic animals when they were first introduced to Russia back in the 1940s. Most lived in aquariums, however, several owners were said to have released them into rivers and local sewage systems when they got too big for their water tanks.

However, several netizens disagreed with the fishermen and said that the weird animal was either some kind of a piranha or perhaps a mutated European eel (Anguilla anguilla). It was not revealed what later became of the fish.
