A day out with army

LAHORE: A group of 100 students and faculty members from KIPS Intermediate Girls College, Lahore, spent a day out on Thursday visiting various military units and formations of Pakistan Army at Lahore Garrison.

The day-long programme was specifically organised to enlighten students on routine functioning of Pakistan Army, its organisation and defence capability.

A programme, Know your Army, has exclusively been initiated for the youth on the instructions of Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif.

The programme began with a wreath laying ceremony and prayers at Yadgar-i-Shuhada, followed by a demonstration by the Quick Response Force. The students also visited an infantry and armour battalion and witnessed arms and equipment display. The programme culminated with a flag ceremony at Ganda Singhwala border checkpost, Kasur. Participants were thrilled by drills by Pakistan Rangers.

They praised the state of morale, commitment and professional competence of the Pakistan Army.
