Throwball Academy clinches Independence Day trophy

KARACHI: Throwball Academy beat Habib Girls School 2-1 in the final to clinch the Independence Day Girls Throwball Trophy here on Sunday at the Mini Sports Complex, Nazimabad.

Earlier, in the first semi-final Habib Girls School outplayed Friends Club 2-0 while in the second semi-final, Throwball Academy got the better of Mama Parsi School 2-1.

The tournament was organised by the Pakistan Women Throwball Association in collaboration with the Pakistan Throwball Federation and Sindh Throwball Association. Six teams participated in the tournament.

Director AG Sindh Mohammad Arshaf who is also, Sindh Throwball Association president, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and distributed prizes and certificates among the winners. Asian Throwball Federation general secretary Maqbool Arain, PNF president Mudassar Arain, SOA’s Raiz Ahmed and athletics federation’s Gohar Raza were also present on the occasion.
