Islamabad court approached over Musharraf properties
KARACHI: A court official approached on Wednesday the special court in Islamabad, trying retired Gen Pervez Musharraf in a high treason case, for further direction regarding confiscation of his properties.
A court official (Nazir) of district and sessions court (south) through a letter informed the special court that three of the four properties owned by the former military ruler in Defence Housing Authority had been confiscated, but sought further direction regarding a bungalow, which is now in the name of Musharraf’s daughter.
On July 19, a three-judge special court, headed by Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel, the Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court, had ordered the authorities to attach Gen Musharraf’s moveable and immovable properties, including three plots and a bungalow in DHA, Karachi, under Section 88 (attachment of property of person absconding) of the criminal procedure code as he had failed to turn up before the court since March despite of several court orders.
