Ibrahim, Yousuf and Hania win ranking tennis titles

KARACHI: Ibrahim Iltifat outplayed Fahad Khan 6-4, 6-1 to win the mens singles title while Hania Naved beat Eraj Batool to lift ladies singles crown in the 4th Indus Pharma Open national ranking tennis championship which concluded at Karachi Club on Sunday.

Meanwhile, talented lad Yousuf Khan who hails from Nawakhali, Peshawar won the U-18 and U-16 singles crowns by beating Noor-e-Mustafa and Parbat Kumar respectively.

In the Under-18 doubles final Shoaib Khan of Peshawar teamed up with Mohammad Abdullah to beat Yousuf Khan and Asadullah pair.

At the closing ceremony, cash prizes worth rupees fifty thousand and trophies were distributed among the winners by Indus Pharma chief Zahid Saeed, STA president Saeed Hai and Gulzar Feroze of KTA.

KARACHI: Young winners receive their prizes from Gulzar Feroze and Zahid Saeed at the Karachi Club. STA president Saeed Hai is also seen.

Men’s singles: Ibrahim Iltifat bt Fahad Khan 6-4, 6-1.

Boys’ U-18 singles: Yousuf Khan bt Parbat Kumer 6-0, 6-3.

Ladies singles: Hania Naveed bt Eraj Batool Zaidi 8-0.

Boys’ U-16 singles: Yousuf Khan bt Noor -e-Mustafa 6-0, 6-1.

Boys’ U-14 singles: M Shoaib bt Amin Shafi 7-6, 6-1.

Boys’ U-12 singles: Yahya Ehtisham bt Ashar Mir 8-4.

Men’s U-18 doubles: M Shoaib-M Abdullah bt Yousuf Khan-Asadullah 8-5

Men’s 35-plus doubles: Asad Ali Bhagat-Reza Ali Mirza bt Kalim Ghanchi-Imran Ahmed 6-4,6-4

Men’s 55-plus doubles: Shahid Hussain-Zahid Hussain bt Altaf Hussain-Humayun Khan 6-2,6-3.
