Two gunned down in Chakwal

CHAKWAL: Two persons were shot dead in separate incidents over some domestic dispute, police sources told Dawn on Friday.

In Bair village, a man killed his elder brother as he wanted to marry his sister-in-law but his brother was not divorcing her.

According to the sources, the elder brother lived in Dubai on work visa. During his absence, the younger one developed feelings for his elder brother’s wife and both fell in love.

When he came to Pakistan recently, his wife demanded divorce, which he refused.

He was to leave for Dubai within next few days but his brother killed him with the help of his sister-in-law, a police official told Dawn, adding police had arrested the woman while the man was at large.

In the second incident, a middle-aged woman was shot dead in Dhab Kalan village.

According to sources, the woman had developed some dispute with her sister-in-law and both used to quarrel.

“A couple of days ago a quarrel took place between the woman and her sister-in-law and the latter phoned her brother and father who came to her house and shot dead the woman,” a villager told Dawn. Police have failed to arrest the suspect.
