MQM leader returns from abroad

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader and lawmaker Faisal Subzwari returned from abroad on Saturday after several months.

Talking to reporters at the MQM-Pakistan’s temporary headquarters in PIB Colony, he said that the operation against crime should continue in Karachi. However, he added, problems would be solved when all institutions would own the city.

He said that his party had decided not to collect hides of sacrificial animals as a “goodwill gesture”.

MQM-P chief Dr Farooq Sattar said that Mr Subzwari had gone abroad with the permission of the party.

He said that closed offices of the party should be allowed to reopen and there should be no restrictions on its political activities.

He called for release of Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar on parole and also demanded the ‘release of missing’ workers of the party.

Dr Sattar said that ‘fake’ cases had been registered against Muttahida workers on the charge of being involved in the recent incidents of arson in Karachi.
