ABBOTTABAD: FIA arrests human trafficker
ABBOTTABAD, Dec 7: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Abbottabad circle, arrested a man allegedly involved in human trafficking here on Saturday evening.
The accused, Gul Rehman Shah, resident of Oghi tehsil, Mansehra, was declared a proclaimed offender by the special judge of immigration in 2000, as he, with his brother Farooq Shah and Muqarab Abbassi, had collected Rs2.3 million from different people in Haripur and Mansehra promising to sent them to Europe.
They dispatched five people, two among them identified as Nasim and Ayaz, to Europe, but they were arrested in Costa Rica and deported to Pakistan.
A case was registered against the three accused under sections 18, 22-B of Immigrations Ordinance at the FIA passport circle in Peshawar, but they managed to slip away.
They were subsequently declared proclaimed offenders by the special judge of immigration, Peshawar.
The FIA, on a tip off that one of the three accused had come back to his native town, constituted a raiding party which arrested accused Gul Rehman Shah.
The accused was sent to judicial lock-up after investigations.
DOCTORS CLASH: Three junior doctors of Ayub Hospital Complex and some other students of Ayub Medical College allegedly attacked a senior colleague and manhandled him.
Dr Nasir Kazmi, senior medical officer, lodged a complaint with the chief executive of the hospital and Abbottabad SSP that Dr Yaqoob Gilgiti, Saad Bilal and Bilal Salim with some other students attacked him on the hospital premises during his duty hours. He said that other senior doctors were also present at the spot at that time.
Dr Kazmi said the assailants carried weapons and threatened him with dire consequences.
