Mixed fortunes for Faisalabad, Karachi Blues

KARACHI: Karachi and Faisalabad had mixed fortunes on Saturday in their race to qualify for the triangular phase of the PCB Inter-region Under-19 (Three-day) Cricket Tournament.

On day one of the fifth and final round, Karachi Blues were better placed to qualify from Group ‘A’ by reaching 150-5 after bowling out Larkana for 131 at the NBP Sports Complex.

Quetta, meanwhile, frustrated Faisalabad as they collected 270-7 in their first innings with Abdul Nasir hitting up an undefeated 109 at the SBP Sports Complex.

Faisalabad, who were 22-0 at stumps, and Karachi Blues both have 28 points from four matches before the start of play on Saturday.
