Musharraf satisfied with PAF readiness
ISLAMABAD, Dec 31: President Gen Pervez Musharraf expressed “complete confidence” on Monday in the war-preparedness of the air force, amid mounting military tension with India.
President Musharraf was speaking at a briefing given by PAF chief Mushhaf Ali Mir on “operational preparedness” in Islamabad.
The briefing was also attended by senior army and naval officers.
Pakistan was a responsible and peace-loving nation but would respond to aggression with complete national will, Musharraf was quoted as saying at the defence briefing.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s top military brass “reviewed the prevalent situation in depth and evaluated the hostile Indian moves posing increasing threat” to Pakistan, an official announcement said.
“The conference also reviewed the deployment of Pakistani troops and their state of readiness to defend the national frontiers,” a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations said.
