60 perish in Quetta

IT IS shocking that terrorists were able to carry out twin attacks on the Police Training College, Quetta, killing 60 trainees. It is indeed a national tragedy. The Police Training College is not an ordinary institution, and the tragedy occurred owing to serious negligence of the college administration.

Terrorist attacks occur every now and then but no foolproof security measures have been taken to protect citizens, trainees or institutions. It was a preventable tragedy.

WORDS can’t express the sorrow of the people and families of those murdered last Sunday in a bomb blast near Sarhab Road in Quetta. The bomb blast claimed the lives of 60 people.

This happened when the police were being trained for jobs. Most of them were Baloch. They were bread winners of their families.
