Quetta massacre
THE bitter memories of the Hazara women passengers of the bus who were killed in broad daylight and those of the lawyers who were massacred on Aug 8 were yet to fade away when came the unfortunate Oct 24 massacre, bleeding Quetta once again. Families and well-wishers are again mourning the 62 men who were to be our would-be protectors.
Why is it so? Where are our security and intelligence institutions? Who is accountable for the bloodbath that occurs in Quetta time and again?
Quetta once was called as the mini-Paris but now looks like an unlucky city of Syria and Iraq. Aren’t these the consequences of policies to nurture some elements as our strategic assets? They now seem to have turned into a Frankenstein monster. It is time we did some introspection and moved in the right direction.
