HARIPUR: Haripur TMA to launch drive against encroachments

HARIPUR, Dec 15: The municipal administration is all set to launch an anti-encroachment drive in the city after issuing notices to the encroachers, officials told Dawn here.

Through the notices issued under Removal of Encroachment of the Public Property Ordinance 1979, the encroachers were asked either to voluntarily vacate the illegally occupied property within a given deadline or face demolition of the structures they had erected unlawfully.

Mochi Bazaar, Loharan Bazar, Rehmania Road and other link roads are initially chosen for the anti-encroachment drive which would be extended to the main bazaar and GT road later.

The sources said that most of the encroachers enjoyed the support of the city’s influentials.

REPORT SOUGHT: The district coordination officer directed the district health department to prepare a comprehensive report on the recently-concluded drive against polio and furnish documentary results reflecting its true outcome.

The directives were issued at a meeting held to review the three-day anti-polio campaign here, sources said on Sunday.
