KGS beat Cedar College in inter-school tennis

KARACHI: Karachi Gram­mar School (KGS) beat Cedar College in a thrilling preliminary rounds contest for the 16-18 age group at the Inter-school team tennis tournament series which started here at Karachi Gymkhana on Saturday.

KGS went one up after Maarib beat Ali 9-1 in the first singles clash.

However, Cedar College levelled after Fahad beat Nasrullah 9-4 in a closely contested second singles fixture, taking the tie into a deciding doubles match.

The doubles match proved to be an exciting contest with the KGS prevailing over Cedar College to set up quarter-final with Ali Public School.

The tournament is being organized by Razia Babar & Nabil Hoodbhoy of Perfect Strokes.

Tomorrow’s fixtures include U-15 contests between Citizen Public School and Bay View Academy II, Beacon House I and Foundation Public School II, Bay View Academy I and Beacon House II.

In the 16-18 age group category, Nixor College will play Lyceum while Beacon House I will meet Cedar College I, Ali Public School will face KGS I and Citizen Public School will face Bahria College Nore I.
