Chehlum processions finish peacefully in Quetta

QUETTA: Over three thousands personnel of law enforcement agencies were deployed for the security of the processions of Imam Hussain’s Chehlum which reached their destination peacefully here on Monday.

The processions taken out from different Imambargahs of the city ended at the Bahesht-i-Zainab graveyard after marching on Alamdar, Toghi and Marriabad roads. The processions were led by leaders of Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen and Balochistan Shia Council.

On the directives of the Balochistan chief minister, the home department made tight security arrangements for the processions.

Over 3,000 personnel of the Frontier Corps, police and Balochistan Cons­tabulary were deployed on entry and exit points of the city, routes of the processions and in and around Imambargahs.

No untoward incident took place and all the processions reached the destination peacefully.
