Swabi leaders seek world powers help to avert war

SWABI, Jan 1: Leaders of various political parties on Tuesday called upon the United States, Britain, Russia, China and the United Nations to play their due role to avoid a conflict in South Asia, and urged India to give up war hysteria.

Speaking at the Rabita programme of Abaseen Union of Journalists, the former MNA and district president of the Awami National Party, Haji Rehmanullah, said war would not eliminate the rivalry between Pakistan and India. He said that people of the two countries were agonized by the massive military buildup on borders.

The chairman of the Swabi Qaumi Mahaz, Mr Salim, advised the governments of two countries to make collective efforts for uprooting poverty and achieving economic prosperity.

He demanded of the military government to ban all those Jihadi groups that were accused of terrorism. The district president of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf, Asad Qaiser, said that all political parties should extend support to the government at this crucial hour.
