Flooding hits two villages in Dadu
DADU: Flooding caused by a 50-foot-wide breach in the dyke of Piar Shakh (an irrigation channel) at a place 70 kilometres from this city inundated two villages, a graveyard and a playground on Friday.
Thatched and mud houses in Miani Mallah and Shabbir Ahmed villages and a graveyard adjacent to them sustained extensive damage while the playground named after a holy man, Rehmani Nangar, also submerged, area people said.
The affected villagers said that the Dadu deputy commissioner and local irrigation officials did not come to their rescue.
They said none of them took measures to get the breach plugged and help them move to a safe place. They urged the chief minister, irrigation minister and other authorities to look into their grievance and take action against indifferent officials.
