KP golf tees off today

PESHAWAR: The 26th edition of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa National Ranking Open Golf Championship will be commencing on Friday over 54 holes— 18 holes each day— at the PAF Golf Course here.

This was stated by Station Commander Peshawar Brig Mohammad Ghulam Hassan Joya while addressing a news conference at the PAF Golf Course.

Flanked by international golfer Major Arshad, who is working as organising secretary of the prestigious event, Brig Ghulam Hassan disclosed that a total of 220 golfers including international golfer Mohammad Munir from across the country are taking part in the event.

The championship carries prize money of Rs1.5 million with a car for hole-in-one.

Promising golfer in Mohammad Naeem who hails from Peshawar will defend the title while another promising and leading golfer of the country Taimur Naseer will also take part in the championship.

In case of tie over 54 holes the winner will be decided by sudden death play-off, Brig Ghulam Hassan added.
