The weird world of colours

This is with reference to the cover article “The weird world of colours” by Fida Hussain (YW, December 3).

The article was full of interesting information about colours. I have become a big fan of the YW magazine as it provides great information. We expect the YW team to continue publishing interesting articles.

The article “The weird world of colours” by Fida Hussain (YW, December 3) was a wonderful article.

It had interesting information about colours. I found it interesting that my favourite colour pink is a colour recommended for anger management. I request you to publish articles such as this one more often. I wait eagerly every Saturday to read YW, because YW completes my Saturday mornings.

Cellphones should be banned at work

Recently, when I was attending my class in college with full concentration, the phone of our teacher rang.

The teacher attended his call and talked for many minutes, the period ended by the time he returned to the class. Not just in our class, but in other classes too students have been disturbed when teachers receive calls during classes.

A period of any subject in a school or college is a time specifically selected for the students and the teacher must use this time for teaching only. Several doctors also use mobile phones during their duty hours.

The staff, doctors and nurses in hospitals spend hours using mobile phones and social media during their duty hours.

The government is requested to ban the use of mobile phones during duty times, so that students or patients do not suffer as a result.

Importance of schools

After our home, school is the second place where we learn ethics, manners and get education, along with teachers as guides and friends as companions. It is not wrong to say that teachers play a great role in the lives of students and, luckily, I have had wonderful teachers in our school.

Teachers hope that their students will shine like stars one day. So when a student does well, that is true success for teachers too.

I would like to thank my teachers who showed and encouraged me to take the right path to success. Their continuous guidance made me a strong person to face problems and learn from them.
