Petition against Achakzai dismissed

QUETTA: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court dismissed on Wednesday a petition seeking the registration of a case against the chief of the Pakhtunkhawa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) under Article 6 of the Constitution.

Ajmal Khan argued in the petition that Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the Pakhtunkhawa Milli Awami Party chief, had committed treason by calling for the creation of a province for Pakhtuns living on either side of the Pak-Afghan border.

But the court dismissed the petition, telling Mr Khan to take up the issue with the federal government.

The bench comprised Chief Justice Muhammad Noor Meskanzai and Justice Ejaz Swati.
