Assistant lineman’s death Three Fesco officials suspended for negligence

FAISALABAD: Three Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) officials -- an executive engineer (EXEN), a sub-divisional officer (SDO) and a line superintendent (LS) -- were suspended from service for their alleged negligence, resulting in the death of an employee.

The suspension orders of the three officials were issued by Fesco Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rasheed Aslam in the light of findings of a probe initiated following death of an assistant lineman, Sajid, who died on Tuesday when a pole fell on him during its removal.

The probe found that the three officials -- Nazimabad EXEN Mohammad Anwer, Samanabad SDO Hammad Ghaffar and LS (second) Kashif -- did not ensure suspension of power supply before removal of pole, resulting in AL’s death.
