Khairpur traders honour Qaim
KHAIRPUR: Former Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that the federal government did not want to carry out a population census in the country, but the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), with the help of the judiciary, has compelled the government to get it done.
The former chief minister added that he would like to advise the people of Sindh to ensure their participation in the population census so that the province gets its due rights, including the right share in the NFC Award and others.
Mr Shah further said that every resident of Sindh should get themselves counted as ‘Sindhi’ in the population census. He was speaking at a ceremony hosted by Anjuman-i-Tajiran Khairpur, and the civil society of the city on Tuesday in order to honour him with a gold crown in recognition of his services to Khairpur and its people.
