Alam Al-Khayal Junior Tennis in semis stage

LAHORE: The third Alam Al-Khayal Junior National Tennis Championships entered the semi-finals stage under the chilly weather of Lahore at the Bagh-i-Jinnah courts on Wednesday.

In the U-18 quarter-finals, Islamabad’s Haris Irfan-ul-Haq beat Huzaifa Abdul Rehman of Jhelum 3-6, 6-2, 6-2; Mohammad Shoaib of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa overpowered Ahmed Asjad of Islamabad 6-4, 6-4 and Aman Atiq Khan of Islamabad outplayed Lahore’s Hafiz Arbab Ali 6-3, 6-3 to qualify for the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Haris and Ahmed Asjad in a demanding U-18 doubles quarter-final overwhelmed the pair of Asadullah and Mohammad Shoaib 6-7, 6-2, 10-2.

In other U-18 doubles last-eight matches, Hafiz Arbab Ali and Aqib Umar defeated Mustafa Ali and Ehsan Ali 6-2, 6-3, while Aman Atiq Khan and Huzaifa Abdul Rehman has to work hard to beat Saqib Umar and Yousuf Khan 3-6, 6-3, 10-3.

In U-12 pre-quarterfinals, Ahmed Nail beat Maha Saeed 8-3, Bilal Asim defeated Yaha Mosa 8-1, Ali Talha downed Saheil Tahir 8-0, Kashan Umar outclassed Hamza 8-2, Hamaza Jawad blanked Haider Ali 8-0, Mohammad Umar overcame Faizan Fayaz 8-5 and Husnain defeated Ibrahim Anjum 8-6.
