KE resumes loadshedding in industrial areas

KARACHI: Trade and industry on Monday criticised K-Electric for resuming loadshedding in city’s industrial areas due to low gas pressure.

In an emergency meeting, members of North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI), said power loadshedding in North Karachi area which would ruin industrial activities, a statement issued by the association read.

President NKATI Akhtar Ismail said the industries are paying fixed charges and fuel surcharge. “Why has the utility company resumed loadshedding citing low gas supply?” he questioned.

He urged the federal government to take notice of power loadshedding in industrial areas.

Meanwhile, when the PR company managing KE’s media relations was approached for comments, an official said the utility company would respond to the query on Tuesday.
