Quetta sewerage system
QUETTA is the capital of Balochistan province and the centre of multiple governmental institutions. Due to its natural beauty, the British called the city ‘little Paris’ in the 1900s. It is said to be the only city in Balochistan where it snows.
Despite these characteristics, Quetta suffers from huge neglect in many respects – the most significant of which pertains to its poorly maintained sewerage system. Citizens are exceedingly concerned by its condition given the danger of falling into one of the many open sewerage lines in the city. Multiple incidents have led to injuries and fatalities, including those of small children.
I implore the concerned authorities to resolve this issue and ensure that Quetta’s citizens are properly informed of safety measures that need to be taken around open sewerage lines.
