PSL teams hype up fans on social media

Competition is heating up among fans as their favourite Pakistan Super League teams take on each other in the world of social media prior to stepping on the pitch.

Peshawar Zalmi will take on defending champions Islamabad United in the first game of the tournament on Feb 9, shortly after the opening ceremony which will be held earlier in the evening.

The teams are indulged in fueling the buzz around PSL on social media, giving fans an inside look of what to expect from Pakistan's premier cricket league.

Islamabad United posted a video of Sam Billings and boasting of his maneuverability on the pitch. He is a right-handed batsman who is also the wicket-keeper for England's national team.

In another tweet, the team raves about one of its "promising" players, seen swinging the ball in the video clip.

Lahore Qalandars, in a show of team spirit, posted a video where the cricketers say they are from Gotham City and "the dark knight better worry".

Former Australian all-rounder and member of the world cup winning squad, Andrew Symonds, cheered for Shahid Afridi's Peshawar Zalmi and wished them the best of luck.

Quetta Gladiators weren't behind in the game either. Cheering on England's bowler Tymal Mills, the tweet said "The Fast and The Furious" bowler is gearing up for the match.

"Who else is excited to watch his fiery bowling spells?" the tweet further said, stirring excitement.

Karachi Kings Captain Kumar Sangakkara shared on camera the warm bonding experience he shares with his teammates as he mingles and practices with them.

"I'm looking forward to the next three days, getting together and preparing for our game," Sangakkara is heard saying.

"Our job is to be ready," the captain said with a confident smile on his face as his team prepares to face Peshawar Zalmi on Feb 10.

The PSL final would be held in Lahore on March 7.
