Turbat varsity launches tree plantation drive

GWADAR: The Univer­sity of Turbat launched a plantation campaign simultaneously at the City Cam­pus Turbat, Main Campus and Gwadar Campus.

The varsity will plant thousands of trees under the Prime Minister’s Green Pakistan Programme.

Vice Chancellor Prof Abdul Razzaq Sabir inaugurated the plantation campaign at the newly-constructed University Campus at Ginna on Thursday.

Registrar, dean’s faculty, heads of teaching departments, sectional heads, faculty members and students were present on the occasion.

The vice chancellor said: “The purpose of plantation campaign is to keep the surrounding clean, green and pollution-free, in addition to resisting global warming and adverse effects of climate change”.

Dr Sabir added that besides students and teachers every individuals of the society should play their due role in the programme for the preservation and protection of climate and important resources of forestry and wildlife. He said the Turbat University had initiated a comprehensive campaign and activities, including seminars and lectures, to create awareness among the masses to protect and revive trees, plants and other green resources.
