Day three of the Pakistan Super League 2017 saw the Karachi Kings lose yet again, this time to the Quetta Gladiators by seven wickets. Earlier in the day, the Lahore Qalandars beat Islamabad United as they easily chased the target of 158 runs.

Imad Wasim slashed a Tymal Mills ball through point in the last over of the Karachi Kings' inning. Asad Shafiq made a valiant effort to catch the ball as he dived full length and got a hand to it. The shot was hit so hard that the ball still made its way to the boundary.

Silence of the lambs

Ahmed Shehzad is never short of words and his wicket was one that the bowler Sohail Khan and the fielder Kieran Pollard rejoiced in. Sohail had a thing or two to say to Shehzad as the batsman stood still for a couple of seconds following the miscued shot, which came right after he had hit a four.

Two in two

Sohail Khan put Karachi Kings on the charge toward defending 160 as he got Kevin Peterson caught behind off his first ball. Sangakkara wasn't sure if the ball had carried and that put a pause to the airplane celebration.

The green cap

The Green Cap-holder (top run scorer) Rilee Rossouw put the finishing touches to the chase as he shared a match-winning partnership of 130 runs with Sarfraz Ahmed. This is a record for Quetta Gladiators for any wicket.

Islamabad United v Lahore Qalandars

PSL record

Four boundaries and two wides off Imran Khalid's over resulted in a PSL record. 21 runs were scored which is most in the first over of any inning, as the punt taken by the Islamabad United think tank failed to reign in Brendon McCullum.

Headed into the bottom corner

Bilawal Bhatti is a skiddy customer with a good bouncer. Sam Billings moved across to play a pre-meditated scoop and ended heading the ball to the third man boundary. It was right out of a football manual.

Helicopter shot

Islamabad were looking for quick runs and skipper Misbah-ul-Haq was leading the charge. The 42-year-old flicked one over corner for a six that Dhoni would have been proud of.

I’m the boss

Brendon McCullum was looking to take the game away from Islamabad, striking 25 off 9 balls, till he met his match in Rumman Raees. The wicket followed a celebration from the bowler that said more than words could say.

Pepsi catch a carore

Jason Roy launched Saeed Ajmal's delivery to the upper tier for a massive six as Lahore sprinted toward the win. A spectator had a day to remember as he caught the ball calmly to ensure his share in the $100,000 crowd catch promotion by Pepsi.
