Military courts need of the hour, says PTI's Shah Memmood
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Sunday said military courts in the country are the need of the hour as the government has failed to curb terror attacks.
The PTI leader was addressing a gathering of his supporters in Tharparkar.
“The non-serious attitude of the federal government is among the prime factors behind continued terror acts,” said Qureshi and added that the weak foreign policy of the current government was also a major reason behind the external and internal problems facing the country.
Qureshi said that the National Action Plan needs to be implemented across the country, and lauded the army chief’s decision to summon Afghan envoys to convey the concerns from the government.
“The deadly attack at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalander is an eye-opener of how terrorists are hitting soft targets in the country,” said the PTI vice chairman.
He also blamed lack of adequate security measures at the shrine for the deadly bombing.
“It is horrible when shrines and religious places are attacked, leaving the people with no other option to helplessly mourn.”
Qureshi remarked that India through Afghanistan has been active in promoting terrorism in Pakistan and added that the government has failed to take up the issue at relevant international forums international forums.
“I have always challenged India and its prime minister, asking them to mend their ways and stop their ugly practices on Pakistani soil.
The death toll from the Lal Shahbaz Qalandar attack had risen to 88 after a suicide bomber blew himself up during the dhamaal ritual after evening prayers.
