PSL finalist teams to have four foreign players each: Najam Sethi

Pakistan Super League (PSL) Chairman Najam Sethi reassured cricket fans on Wednesday that the teams playing in the league's final will have four foreign cricketers each. He made the announcement through his official Twitter account.

Sethi said, "I can confirm that each finalist team will field four foreign players from pool of platinum, diamond and gold players who have agreed."

Due to security concerns following a recent wave of terror attacks in different parts of the country, including Lahore, there had been speculations that the PSL final may not be held in Pakistan at all.

However, the PSL chairman had reiterated on several occasions that a special draft may be held for the PSL final so that leagues could select players to replace those who dropped out.

Quetta Gladiators mentor Sir Vivian Richards and fielding coach Julien Fountain confirmed Wednesday they will be travelling to Lahore for the final.

However, in the foreign players' camp, concerns remain about participation in the finale, scheduled to be held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on March 5.

Following Tuesday's Quetta Gladiators vs Peshawar Zalmi playoff, four foreign players of Quetta Gladiators, namely star batsmen Kevin Pietersen and Rilee Rossouw, all-rounder Luke Wright and fast bowler Tymal Mills said they would be unavailable for the final despite the team qualifying for it.
