Cook-it-yourself : Strawberry banana smoothie

Ingredients:

• 250g fresh strawberries, cleaned and sliced

• 2 bananas, peeled and sliced

• 1/2 cup yogurt

• 1/2 cup orange juice, optional

• 2 tablespoons sugar

Method:

Wash and slice strawberries and mix with two tablespoons of sugar and leave for about 15-20 minutes in the refrigerator to let the strawberries get a bit sweeter and juicy. You can add more sugar if you want your smoothie to be sweeter as this one will be just right and light for weightwatchers.

Now add the banana and yogurt. You can also add the juice of one or two oranges to add more flavour and nutrients to it.

Now just blend them in a blender, you can add ice cubes at this stage to get a cool and refreshing result, I didn’t use ice as both the strawberries and yogurt were cold.

Pour in a glass, tops with fresh strawberries and drinking it right way. A very healthy breakfast-on-the-go option and excellent to refresh you doing your long, hard study sessions. Makes about three servings.
