Three brothers get death sentence for double murder

SUKKUR: The anti-terrorism court (ATC) at Mirpur Mathelo in Ghotki district sentenced three brothers to death in a double murder case and acquitted a fourth accused after the prosecution failed to prove charges against him.

According to reports reaching here, Muhammad Siddique Burirho, father of Rukhsana and Uzair, had filed a petition in the ATC on Sept 21, 2015, through his counsel, accusing Nadeem Burirho, Azam Burirho and Saleem Burirho of killing his son and daughter after a dispute over a piece of land.

In the application, he maintained that a double murder case had been registered against the accused in the Mirpur Mathelo police station.

Four accused had been nominated in the FIR lodged with the police which also included the name of Muhammad Yunus Bhuriro.

On Friday, ATC Judge Sham Lal Ladhani announced the verdict in the open court and awarded death sentence to three brothers for murdering Rukhsana and Uzair but acquitted the fourth brother Yunus Bhuriro for want of evidence.
