Navy conducts test launch of anti-ship missile

KARACHI: Pakistan Navy successfully conducted the test launch of a land-based anti-ship missile on Thursday.

The missile has advanced technology and avionics, which enables it to hit targets at sea with high accuracy, according to a Pakistan Navy press release.

The trial was conducted from the coastal region and the missile successfully hit the target placed at sea.

The event was witnessed by Vice Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Khan Hasham bin Saddique and senior officers of Pakistan Navy.

The vice chief of the naval staff commended accomplishment of objectives of the trial and lauded hard work and efforts of all those involved, especially the crew of the missile unit.

The Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, in his message felicitated the officers and crew. He said the latest weapon system had added a new dimension to the operational reach of Pakistan Navy as the PN would be able to bolster seaward defence of the nation by having the capability of launching long-range anti-ship missiles from land.
