Karachi Grammar School wins best small delegation award at Harvard MUN

The Karachi Grammar School brought home an award for Best Small Delegation after competing in this year's Harvard Model United Nations debating contest.

Head of the delegate, Sabriyah Saleem Chatoor, was awarded the title of Outstanding Delegate.

Thirteen students from the school, accompanied by Aysha Shiekh, a member of faculty, visited China to compete in the annual contest that took place between March 16 and March 19.

Over 2,000 high school students from various countries, including India, Singapore, Brazil, and the USA, participated at HMUN Chin, read a press statement issued to local media.

The KGS team competed in eight different committees and 13 members of the 14-member team secured awards, the statement said.

KGS won 3 Best Delegate,7 Outstanding Delegate and 3 Honourable Mention awards and thus secured the Best Small Delegation award, the press release added.

The delegation comprised 14 people:

Last year, the KGS won the best international delegation award at the HMUN held in downtown Boston.

At HMUN, delegates gain insight into the workings of the United Nations and the dynamics of international relations by assuming the roles of UN representatives and members of other international bodies and national cabinets.
