CTD claims killing five terrorists

GUJRAT: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claims to have killed five terrorists in a shootout near Shadiwal Town late on Wednesday night.

Sources said the encounter took place when a raiding team of the CTD besieged a house at a deserted place and asked the alleged terrorists to surrender. They, however, opened fire which was retaliated resulting in the death of five terrorists.

LEAs claim that they were involved in planning a major attack somewhere in Gujrat or Kharian. They say there were intelligence reports about the presence of some terrorists in the vicinity and three of their accomplices made good their escape.

The CTD recovered some explosive material, detonators, weapons, rounds and literature from the scene.
