Cat tales

YW has been my favourite magazine since I was nine years of age, and my favourite part about it at that time was “Cat tales”. The columns were filled with crafts for cats, cat hacks, common cat problems and other interesting information about cats.

Since I am a cat lover I got upset when the section was stopped. I request the YW team to start the column again with information about not just cats, but other pets as well.

Maths made easy

This is regarding the cover article “Maths made easy” by Ambreen Kashif (YW, 11 March). I really enjoyed reading this article as this was so helpful.

Such articles are really helpful for students who are weak in their studies and for those students who don’t get good grades.

The best part of this article was the method of studying maths during the exam time. With plenty of syllabus, it becomes difficult to manage. I completely agree with the writer that maths practicing needs to be done throughout the year because some students think that they would understand questions only by reading them and not with practice.

However, practice is the key for doing maths. So to achieve perfection, one has to practice maths over and over again.

Make gender equality a reality

The issue of March 4 made me happy. I loved the cover story “Make gender equality a reality” by Sandhya Karamat Barlaas and also “A choice or a regret?” by Iqra Aslam Memon.

I was so happy to find topics like feminism and career choice in a popular and influential magazine like YW. I agree that our parents have their best interests at heart for us, but one has to choose the career path that ‘one’ likes the most, because in the end, success is not what matters but happiness does.

I also appreciate the book, movie and website reviews in the magazine.

One thing that disappointed me though, was that there were no quotes in this issue which is actually my favourite part in the whole magazine. So it is my humble request to the YW team to carry the quotes always.

Cousin connection

This is with reference to the cover story “The cousin connection” by Yasmin Elahi (YW, March 18).

It was a great topic and the writer very nicely highlighted the feelings, bonds, laughter, fights and all the fun associated with cousins. It also rekindled the love among cousins and I request the YW team to publish articles that focus on the significance of relatives and relationships.

II

The cover story on “The cousin connection” by Yasmin Elahi was a wonderful reminder about the importance of cousins which we have almost forgotten. We don’t cherish this relation often, so the article was worth a read.
