Pakistan wants to resolve all issues with India: COAS

LONDON: Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa said on Tuesday that Pakistan is a peace-loving country and wished to resolve all outstanding issues with India, including the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir.

Gen Bajwa said this while sharing his thoughts on the regional and international security environment at the International Institute of Strategic Studies — a think tank.

Gen Bajwa talked in detail about security situation in Afghanistan and its impact on peace and stability in the region and beyond.

Gen Bajwa told another think tank that Pakistan is positively and actively engaged in its region to bring about peace and stability there, said a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations.

Speaking to members of the Royal United Services Institute think tank, Gen Bajwa explained how the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would help develop the region economically.

The chief of the army staff (COAS) also highlighted the challenges being faced by Pakistan Army in bringing about stability in the region.

The members of the forum praised the candid speech made by the COAS and acknowledged Pakistan Army’s contributions for peace in its region.

Earlier, a reception was hosted by the Pakistan High Commission in honour of Gen Bajwa where he interacted with a number of important members of the Pakistani community based here.
