French firms explore investment potential

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani and French enterprises have identified agriculture, food processing, hydro-electric and renewable energy, digitalisation of industry, electronics, information technology and LNG storage and re-gasification as areas in which bilateral business relations can be enhanced.

After a business-to-business meeting between the two sides organised by the Board of Investment (BoI) on Wednesday, the BoI expressed hope that the forum will pave the way for trade, investment and exchange of business delegations.

A delegation of French businessmen headed by Thierry Pflimlin, chairman of the France-Pakistan Business Council of MEDEF International, is visiting Pakistan.

Prominent French companies, including Engie, Thales, Total Marketing and Service, Clauger, Eclor SA, Olmix and Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, are part of the delegation.

The French companies are exploring business opportunities in Pakistan in energy, environment, agriculture, banking, architecture and aerospace sectors.
