Three Pakistan cueists to compete in Asian Snooker

KARACHI: Three Pakistanis are among 67 cueists who will compete for honours when the 33rd Asian Snooker Championship cues-off at Doha on Saturday.

The participants belonged to 23 member countries of the Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports (ACBS). The countries include Afghanistan, Bahrain, China, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Syria, Taipei, Thailand and the UAE.

According to information available here, last year’s runner-up Mohammad Shehab of the UAE, has been seeded on top in the draw.

Pakistan’s former national champion Mohammad Bilal has been seeded eighth and drawn in the group H. Mohammad Sajjad has been placed in group M while Asjad Iqbal in group P.

The event concludes on April 28.
