Watermelon ice lolly
Ice lollies are the surest way to cool off in summer. But we really don’t know what those yummy coloured lollies in the shops are made of – you don’t know where the flavours and colours are coming from. So why not make ice lollies from real fruits and enjoy some natural goodness.
So let’s make some watermelon ice lollies and for this all the ingredient you need is watermelon! Well, we added some red sherbet to bring out a stronger flavour but you can skip it if you want, as it will still taste great without it.
As always, the recipe is very easy but the only part where you need an adult’s help is cutting and deseeding the watermelon. Please don’t try it yourself, you may hurt yourself with the knife.
Ingredients
• 1/4 to 1/2 of a watermelon
• 2 tablespoons red sherbet (you know the brand I am talking about)
Method:
Cut the watermelon and remove all the seeds. In a blender, put the watermelon pieces, add the sherbet, and blend for two to three minutes, until smooth.
Pour into an ice lolly tray and freeze for a few hours or overnight.
You can enjoy the totally natural and healthy ice lolly as it is, or just garnish with some more red sherbet or chocolate syrup or anything or nothing.
