Zardari due in Peshawar on 13th
PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari will arrive here on May 13 for a three-day visit to apprise himself of the party affairs and hold meetings with office-bearers of different districts.
A party spokesman told Dawn that the visit was overdue as he had to go to other areas. Mr Zardari will stay at the residence of party’s provincial president Engineer Mohammad Humayun Khan in Peshawar cantonment.
He will meet former provincial president Anwar Saifullah Khan and former federal minister Arbab Alamgir to discuss matters pertaining to party organisations.
The spokesman said that Mr Zardari would also visit the residence of former provincial minister Iftikhar Jhagra to offer condolences with the family on his (Iftikhar Jhagra’s) demise. Different delegations of workers will also hold meetings with Mr Zardari.
Another source said that PPP had so far not announced sister organisations and the party co-chairman was expected to finalise names of the office-bearers for women wing, students, youth, labour, teachers, lawyers and other units.
