APML to field candidates across KP in next polls

PESHAWAR: All Pakistan Muslim League has announced to field candidates for maximum seats of National Assembly and provincial assembly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the next general elections.

Addressing a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, APML provincial chief organiser Aurangzeb Mohmand said that their leadership was in contact with some other political parties to form electoral alliance or at least make seat adjustment in different districts.

On this occasion several activists of various political parties led by Advocate Wahid Khan Khalil of Qaumi Watan Party announced to join APML.

Mr Mohmand said that adjustment of seats with other parties would depend on vote bank of the relevant candidate. He added that efforts were underway to nominate strong candidates to win the elections.

Showing concerns over excessive loadshedding, the APML leader said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had promised to control power outages within 90 days but he could not do so even in four years. He said that poverty, corruption and unemployment were on the rise in the country but the government had no concrete plan to resolve the problems.

Recalling the policies of the government of Pervez Musharraf, Mr Mohmand said that credit went to the APML president for taking action against corrupt elements through National Accountability Bureau that gave boost to the national economy.

He said that Pervez Musharraf had decreased ratio of foreign loans and ensured freedom of expression in the country by issuing licences to private television channels.

Mr Mohmand said that APML would try to play significant role in the 2018 general elections to restore the policies of Pervez Musharaf government.

APML provincial president Sar Mir Khan and general secretary Shamsur Rahman were also present on the occasion.
