National Security Committee expresses satisfaction over Operation Raddul Fasad

The National Security Committee (NSC) on Wednesday expressed satisfaction over anti-terrorism operations in the country and showed its deep concerns over human rights violations in India-held Kashmir by security personnel.

The meeting held in Islamabad and chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, deliberated upon overall internal and external security situation of the country as well as situation on eastern and western borders.

The committee expressed serious concern over the atrocities of Indian forces on the innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir and resolved to continue moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris.

The committee expressed satisfaction over the sustained gains achieved from anti-terrorism operations, particularly Operation Raddul Fasad.

Security for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects also came under discussion during the meeting.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Director General ISI Lt. General Naveed Mukhtar and other attended the meeting.

Earlier, General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on the prime minister and discussed matters pertaining to operational preparedness of the Pakistan Army.
