Book review: Stories of the Prophet (PBUH) for Kids

Biographies can be very boring, especially for kids. Even if the personality is a very famous and well-loved one, unless the book is written in an interesting manner, young readers are reluctant to pick it up and read.

But this shouldn’t be the case with Stories of my Beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for Kids, by Moulvi Al-Hafiz S.S. Seyed Ibrahim Al-Bukhari, and printed by Darul Mughni Islamic Publisher. A very kids-friendly treasure, it tells the amazing and heart-touching events of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life, starting from before his birth till his passing away.

The word “Stories” in the title of the book reflects the style of the narration, which is in the form of stories about our beloved Prophet (PBUH), and there are frequent references to authenticate what is written.

Most of us do know many of the incidents that took place in the life of our Holy Prophet, but the interesting narration, in an easy-to-understand language, make it seem as if we are reading about it for the first time.

The illustrations form the background of the pages and the text is printed over the illustration, making it visually attractive. The pages are fine, glossy art paper that do feel good to hold, but this makes the book a bit too heavy to hold for long. Otherwise, I found this book irresistible to read, a joy to look at and very easy to understand.

Stories of My Beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for Kids is an excellent way to know and, thus, love our Holy Prophet.
