Sports secretary’s action rescues karate player

KARACHI: Secretary Sports Sindh Saleem Raza’s prompt action and help saved the life of talented young karate player Taj Mohammad after he was critically injured in a road accident at Shahrah-e-Faisal last Wednesday.

The news of Taj’s accident was aired by a few TV channels on Wednesday afternoon and Sports Secretary Sindh immediately ordered Director Sports Shehzad Pervaiz Bhatti to rush to the spot and provide all assistance and financial help to the martial artist.

Taj, who was taken to a local hospital after the accident, was later shifted to A.O. Clinic where he was successfully operated upon by Dr Imran Ali Shah and is now well on his way to recovery.

“Sindh sports department will bear all the expenses of Taj’s treatment until the time he completely recovers from his injuries,” said Saleem Raza in a statement. “I wish Taj all the best for his health and hopes that he recovers well to once again represent the country in national and international events.”
