‘Mastermind’ of Chaman blasts arrested
QUETTA: The alleged mastermind of several bomb attacks carried out in Chaman town, near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border crossing, has been arrested, police said on Saturday.
Noor Ahmed, who illegally crossed into Pakistan from Afghanistan, was arrested in Chaman a few days ago.
Police claimed that the suspect during interrogation had confessed to his involvement in several bomb blasts, including the attack near government girls college and railway road.
The suspect, who is an Afghan national, had returned to Afghanistan after the attacks. He re-entered Chaman recently and was captured, said a senior official.
“I was receiving Rs100,000 per attack from Afghanistan, out of which I paid Rs50,000 to the man who would execute the plan,” the official said quoting Ahmed.
