Girls secure top positions in Abbottabad SSC exam results

ABBOTTABAD: Girls secured the top three positions in the secondary school examination result announced by the Abbottabad Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education here on Monday.

In the results, 49 candidates shared overall top 20 positions.

Announcing the results, controller of examinations Prof Jehanzeb Khan said 59,265 students appeared in the SSC exams out of which 39,530 were declared successful with the result ratio standing at 66.7 per cent.

Maleeha Iqbal of Khyber Public School & College Mansehra with 1,046 marks got overall first position, the second position was jointly shared by Rizwa Rehman of Peace Group of S&C Abbottabad and Mahnoor Fayaz of Modernage Public S&C Abbottabad with 1,043 apiece.

Fajar Ahmad of Peace Group of S&C with 1,037 marks got third position. The toppers belonged to the science group.

In science group (male), all the three positions were captured by students of Abbottabad Public School & College Abbottabad. Hammad Bin Manzar with 1027 marks got first position, Sardar Noman Qayyum with 1,025 stood 2nd and Mohammad Aqib Faizan with 1,024 marks remained third.

In humanities group (female), private students got distinctions, where Aleena Ishaque with 912 marks got first position, Hoorain Abbasi with 881 marks stood 2nd and third position was jointly shared by Arifa Nazeer and Faiza Zahoor by obtaining 867 marks each.

In humanities group (male), private student Kareem Dad Khan with 808 marks got first position, 2nd position was secured by Shakir of government high school, Ghandian Mansehra with 807 marks and third position was obtained by Bilal Anwar of Government High School Kolika Mansehra with 803 marks.

A good performance was shown by government schools for the first time in Abbottabad board as four students of government schools joined the top 20 club where two students each of Government Girls High School Saraie Saleh Haripur and Government High School No 3 Abbottabad succeeded to make entry into the top slots.
