LAHORE: Around 8000 policemen were deployed to provide security at Friday prayers.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Dr Haider Ashraf visited different mosques to check the security arrangement.

The DIG said people had to go through a four-tier security cordon and barbed wire was installed around all worship places.

He said they also deployed snipers at high-rise buildings and dolphin and police response unit continued patrolling in and around worship places.
