Gwadar residents plagued by outages
GWADAR: Prolonged loadshedding in the port city irked consumers who blocked the national highway in protest, causing serious problems to commuters as traffic remained suspended for two hours on Thursday.
A large number of people gathered at the main highway linking Gwadar to other areas, and blocked the road with barricades to record their protest against excessive loadshedding near the civil hospital and the area adjacent to it.
The angry protesters chanted slogans against the government and demanded smooth supply of electricity to the area.
The road was opened when officials of the Quetta Electricity Supply Company and local administration reached the site and assured the protesters that the fault in the transformer would be removed as soon as possible.
