Special security for foreigners ordered after attack on Chinese in Ghotki
KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal on Sunday directed the police to ensure extraordinary security for Chinese and other foreign nationals working on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects as well as other development projects in the province.
Taking notice of the Saturday incident of firing on some Chinese nationals in Ghotki, the home minister called for extra care and appropriate steps for the safety and security of foreigners working in Sindh.
Mr Siyal directed senior police officials to chalk out a comprehensive strategy.
He asked the officials concerned to assign special security responsibilities to the officers and personnel, as well as commandos, of the Rapid Response Force and special unit in this regard.
A supervisor officer should be given the responsibility of monitoring of police deployment for the security of foreigners time to time, the home minister said.
